RESOLVED that the minutes of the Parish Council meeting of 14th August 2019

19/077 Outstanding Matters Reports and Updates
19/077.1 A51 Traffic Issues through Sandon including the Burston junctions.
19/077.1.1 Issues raised that are currently being pursued by County Highways.
A51 Slow signs at the top of Butterhill Bank
Dog & Doublet junction road markings
Drain in Burston
Railway Bridge fence on Stafford Road
19/077.2 Footpath 36 -Burston Pool to the Canal Bridge.
Gate fastening. Geometry of the existing gate is not compatible with the proposed
closing system.
Proposed that Councillor Shelley discusses the matter with Councillor Harris with a
view to installing the Gate element of a Kissing Gate system in such a way that the
Hoops may be installed at a later date if required.
Councillor Capjon proposed that appropriate signs are attached to any gate fitted.
19/077.3 Sandon Gateways. Waiting for proposals from Sandon Estate.
19/077.4 Clearing vegetation from the footpaths on the A51 and Hilderstone roads.
Hedge cutting by the Estate completed which helps but controlling encroachment
of vegetation is still required
19/077.4.1 Community Payback team to look at clearing vegetation on Stocks Lane.

19/077.5 Road Signs obscured by hedges and those requiring a clean.
Encroachment of vegetation on to the pathway.
19/077.5.1 Waiting for hedge cutting to be completed then assess the problem.
19/077.5.2 A51 hedge behind the Blacksmiths Shop requires cutting – New property owners
now in residence. To be contacted when appropriate.
19/077.6 Defibrillator for Burston.
Further advice and information being sought. (Mr Rundle) Continued Agenda item.
19/077.7 Ducklings and the culvert on the brook at Trent Cottage, Burston
19/077.7.1 No reply to the query raised with Staffordshire Wildlife
19/077.8 New Clerk. Advert to be placed with the Parish Councils’ Association and a notice
included in the October edition of Compass.

Considered that the seat element should be dispensed with and to contact a Joiner to
quote for making the Stocks.
